Most killies eggs has to be incubated in plastic bags , boxes containers etc .

There is a way I want to try hope all experience guys here can give suggestions . Maybe you guys have tried it before please let me know of the pro and cons .

I belive the normal practice is to place the eggs with their media maybe peat moss or home made mops style inside a bag or box . They also need to be kept away from direct sunlight and all sorts or strong natural elements . We also need to take them once a while to slightly moist them and check on their conditions .

I have several empty cigar humidors in the house . Can we keep the eggs with their media inside a cigar humidor . Inside these cigar`s humidors their humidity and temperature can be adjusted and maintain for at least up to 3 months or more . Best of all it will also be dust free .

Any idea will cedar wood has any bad effect on the eggs ? What is the right humidity and temperature for the eggs .

Those cigar humidifiers may work but you must ensure that temperature remains at a cool constant, maybe around 24 to 27deg for most species. 28 will work as well. The eggs need a constant supply of oxygen so if your humidifier has no air access they may asphyxiate to death. As for humidity levels I'm not too sure because I keep mine in ziploc bags.

Cedar wood, if it leaches those aromatic oils, can seriously affect the development of the eggs. Some of these oils are toxic to mammals and can kill the incubating eggs as well.

After reading Tyrone's post, yes, feel free to experiment but as usual, the risk factor applies. Do this only if you feel you're willing to lose some eggs should anything go wrong.

Cedar does not leak out oil .

Right on Prize processions is not worth taking the risk . I guess I will just put in a few just to try it out .

Thanks all . Since the temperature has got to be at the 26 I think maybe I will for go this idea . Cause the temperature in the walk in humidor`s highest is only 22 ~ 23 and inside the humidor box is only about 24 .

Thanks once again for all kind advise .
