    Hi all
I got 4 female and 2 male this summer . The travel was a little dramatic, they spent 17 days in the bags, but they were in good shape.

Last week they started producing eggs, they live in a 30 l tank crowded with plants, peat at the bottom, and I use "peatwater" so I get "black water" PH is about 4.8

The male are very nice at pictures I have seen, but my male have no color, they look like very similar the female, and that is a pity of course.
They are eating and are very active.
So I just wonder if anyone have an explanation of this??
    Regards
    Svein

    Hi Svein

I have 1 pr that are chilling at 18-19°C. My male has very nice colour and I am not seeing any eggs... Want to swop?

No, seriously. You may just have an early bloomer or because you have 2 males neither has the courage to show off. If you can seperate them into 2 tank maybe they will colour up.

How old are you fish and what size more or less? I wonder if I shouldn't toss a heater in with them...

You say there are nice pics on the web, can you supply a URL. I don't know if my male is as good as it gets or if I can expect more.

I have 7 FBS 95-2 in the tank next door. They are also beinging to colour up. Looks like 1 female in the bunch... I'm told they are VERY red.

All my fish are eating Tim Addis' food without problems. It has got colour enhancers in it... It took them a while to accept it as food but now they are very eager to get their daily dose. They attack it like it were live food.

    Regards

    Hi Tyrone
Thank's for you replay, ok we change the fish I will try to split them into 2 tanks and see if that help.

I mostly give them live foods, drosophila, cyclops and artemia + frozen food.

Here is the link from the breeder of mine:

    Good news!

Marco is also the breeder of my fish! and my male is far prettier than the one in the picture.:-) I think you just need to be patient.

    regards
