Kho, where'd you get this info? Very intriguing, I did a search on a website but there's no such town by that name in the states.Originally Posted by shortman

The sand should have been mined directly from the US location that Wright has mentioned. I don't think you'll get the same identical particles in sands mined from other places.
As it is, there's a kind of gravel called Arag-alive and its meant for marine tanks. They have a range of sands ranging from those mined in the Caribbean and also in the Pacific regions, from places such as Indonesia and even Fiji.
As it is, one can see the differences from the sands mined from these geographically different regions.

I found a "Singapore Historical" in Michigan (by the lake) so I'm not sure what that means.
There is also a Singapura in Jawa Barat, right next to some volcano (probably dormant or extinct).

Yes. It is very good sand and the edge I have is rounded and good for cory fish.Originally Posted by whuntley

Reflect that against the US$4 I used to pay for 22 kg.

BTW, I bet it is cheaper in SG than in Bishop.![]()
One downer about living in glorious country is the cost of transporting stuff here, coupled with the minimal competition to drive prices down.

How high are your mountains in SG? How could I take my regular Tues. AM hikes with Teena? Today's was short (2.2 miles) in about 6" of fresh snow. From here, I can walk about 600 miles without ever seeing anybody and only crossing a few roads. [From SG, that would have to be a boat trip.Originally Posted by stormhawk

Not many people, which is OK for us rural type hicks.
I doubt if I actually walked on your gravel, but I did race sailboats a lot out of Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel (where Clint Eastwood was the mayor). I was no doubt very close to it in my travels.

No mountains in Singapore but that's not a problem. we are physically linked to the Asian mainland. a 600 mile hike would take you to the Thai-Malaysian border, nice place with lots of friendly folks. There used to be many more friendly folks (the MCP) but most have retiredOriginally Posted by whuntley
