    Hi all,

Has anyone had any experiance for the Sera CO2-start system. I saw it at the local pet store and was wondering if it is any good? It seems simply to use (and low maintenance).

    Any one got an opinion?

    Regards

Hi Tyrone, I've seen the product for sale locally before but have personally not tried it myself. That said, it would be a simple reactor for smaller tanks, perhaps those that are less than 1.5 feet in length. You could go ahead and buy one if the price is right.

Come to think of it, the CO2 tabs that is shown in the webpage you linked might be all you need for a low maintenance tank. Just get a tube of the CO2 tablets as seen in the page and drop one in per day. Since all they do is to dissolve and slowly release the gas, you could drop one right beneath a small powerhead and the CO2 coming from the tablet would be better diffused without buying the entire kit.
