Anyway for your rough guide of how much is 100grams, I checked my sera microgran (granulated fish food) bottle. The size of the bottle is about 4.5cm diameter and 7 cm height. It stated 100ml and 48g.

    Poh San,
I'm pleasantly surprised by the response, which I can say is definitely better than a group order for killie eggs.

The total amount is a fair bit and I can understand if you wish for us to pay for our respective orders first.

Thanks to Ronnie and Mark for your reminder. I have send the order list to Tim on Yesterday night and is expecting him to reply me with the total cost plus shipping charge. I will pay via Paypal from my credit card account. Indivdual payment will be advised later when I got my credit card bill and shipping charge will be divided by the weight of the indivdual order.

I hope that the above arrangement will be fair to all.

    Hi all,

I received Tim's reply today. It stated as followed:

    "
I think to ship 4 kg by airmail will cost around £40 which seems expensive.
I am going to our post office tomorrow to try to get better prices. If you
were willing to wait surface mail is cheaper.
To ship by airmail the postal cost would work out at :-

    1p per grm
    £1 per 100 grm
    £10 per kg."
The above shipping is quite accurate as I had checked the UK's royal mail web site. Surface mail will be half the price but it took around 8 weeks for delivery.

I personally will still go for Airmail. However, for other who hope to withdraw the order or prefer to go by surface, please contact me of your decision latest by tomorrow 12 noon.

    Regards.

Like Jian Yang, the food was delivered to my house today but no one was at home. I will arrange with the post office and will be expecting to get them 2 days later.

For those who had ordered, you can collect the food by the following methods. Please let me know by PM, email ([email protected]), or SMS (96346086) on what do you prefer:

    1) from Eco
    2) from my house, Buangkok Crescent, (weekend only)
    3) from Ronnie's place
    4) postal but I only have time to visit post office on weekend and I have to charge for postal and packing.

I directed the parcel to my office so the food is with me now. Try it on my fish but not all is accepting them maybe some training is needed.

Anyway, my credit card shows SGD347.89 for £109.40 which works out £1 for SGD3.18. The payment of individual will be calculated as followed. The food works out to be quite expensive after adding in the shipping. So sorry

Payment can be done by Internet banking, cheque or cash when we meet at the gathering. My POSB saving account number is 071-12923-3

I will bring the food to eco and Ronnie's place on Saturday evening. Or you can come to my house in the evening to collect it.

Test run no:1, all my lampeyes love it big or small. Should have order something bigger also as my Simp. Ignues have eye-sight problem and can't see the food. Tried baby brine shrimp also. Samething, they can't see the food.

    All lampeyes: Love it.

    Notho: eat and spit

Rivulus: eat 50% of it. (Previously feed with enrich full size brineshrimp.)

XIP: Ignore it. (Probably still full)

EXO: Can't see them eat it. In fact i never seen them eat anything. They are just too shy.

LIN: Too small for a mouthfull.

    Guppy: Eat like no tomorow.

    Food

From keehoe's post, there seems to be nothing amazing about Tim Addis's food for killies. Perhaps it's way too early to judge. But based on the response from his Nothos, especially when most are known to be finicky eaters, the fish food does not seem to be establishing itself as a as a deviation from the norm.

    Folks,
I tasted the food and my tongue detects a fair amount of attractant, perhaps from fish-oil (?)

All my fishes take to the food with varying degree of gusto. For once, I don't have to worry about the ANNs and my Notho sp. aff. rubripinnis 'Lisinjiri River' TAN 97/27 surprised me... these buggers didn't spit the pellet out

Chrom. splendopleure, Procatopus and bitaeniatum just went for it.

Fundulopanchax, Corydoras and guppies are their usual selves and eat like pigs.

BTW, one 100gm pack of the 'Fry Grade (0.2~0.3mm)' will condense nicely into 7 film canisters. The coarser bits, 0.8~1.2mm, fits 7½ canisters.

If you need the canisters, let me know and I'll drop some off at Eco Culture.

Now that's a thorough review! :P Sounds like a winner to me -- I would expect most fish to taste and spit out new food for at least a short time until they adjust.

Deborah, I tried Timmy's stuff with different fishes in retail tanks at a LFS last night and am quite pleased with my observation.

Some huge rainbowfishes from New Guinea and apistos took to the coarse granules without problems but the Betta cocina and B. occelatus (sp?) were fairly reluctant.

There were also some tiny tiny buggers that looks like bait fish, or those I mix into egg omletes, and these fellas had small mouths. I sprinkled the fine 'Fry Grade' onto the surface and they immediately went for it.... good sign

Poh San, there's a double transfer of SGD82.00 to your account, being payment for mine and Kee Hoe's order.

"Woodstock", your order is already at Eco. Please arrange with Poh San for payment and collection. [Also, please edit your profile so I don't have to dig around for your name. Thank you.]

    Ron,

Thanks for the info -- I will probably look into ordering some in a bit; but, are you soaking the granules first? Are they hard? Granule food always worries me because I think they'll soften and expand in the fishes' belly if they eat it too fast.

Deborah, the granules feel hard to the touch but they crumble fairly easily. In fact, I could have just ordered the coarse granules and crush them between my fingers, for a powdery texture to feed fry.

I've tried the coarse bits even on smaller fishes and have yet to see one choke

You don't have to pre-soak, unless for liquid vitamin suppliments, and these bits float for a short while but sink pretty fast when the surface is agitated. Based on what I've observed, you're worrying too much
