This is really not a easy fish in breeding no wonder it is stated as "advanced" in database.

Just have around 90++ fry in about 5mm size and another 4 bags of egg.

    Kho,
I'm very pleased that you're doing well with the Notho group and as a newcomer to killifishes, that's an real achievement [considering that you initially didn't even want a single killifish from me ].

You, Kenny, Kee Hoe, plus the guys and gals* covering other genera, proved to me that newbies are not idiots and that it's possible to educate/influence newcomers, the concept of species maintenance. There is a friendly argument between Kwek Leong and myself, that newbies do not/cannot/can't be bothered about species with population codes, that all they want are just nice fishes in their tanks. That may be so, but I don't always fully agree

I have often been labelled "anal and a sticker to codes" but it was worth it and feel I can safely say that Killies.com has had a very positive impact on hobbyists' mindset, without incurring the wrath and livelihood of neighbourhood fish shops.

Anyhow, at the rate you guys are going, it'd be soon when you start selling eggs and fishes on Aquabid. To many, killie-maintenance is a serious hobby but it can be productive and self-sustaining, without digging deep into our pockets.

Keep up the good work. I'm proud to be in your company.

    * YES!, ladies, I appreciate your effort and contributions too!

Kenny has taken the first step to sell his first bag of eggs over at Aquabid. So Kho when are you taking the first move?

We can't just keep investing money on our hobby. Try to sell some of your excess eggs to recoup some funds and in return it can be utilise to buy new species..

    Au,
I plan to do so but only after Killies.com's 2nd Gathering*, a consolidated group contribution to NZKA (New Zealand Killie Association) and consigning more species to LFS in SG. My priority is to establish population stability, locally first then elsewhere, before I venture into AB.

    * Almost confirmed on Saturday, May 28th 2005, at Eco Culture's new location. Details later in another thread.

Congrate Kenny for his 1st attempt in aquabid.

Au, I could supply you with enough eggs if you want. I don't have the good reputation like you. kekeke.

Last week collected 200 eggs not single one bad using new technique to transfer the egg from the breeding bowl/container.

Thanks to the SAF training, at least gain something back from the experience.

    Cheers

    Hi Kho,

I also once upon a time started from zero. Reputation is build upon through time. So I'm sure you could do it too.

If need to, I can help you to post but you'll have to pack and send the eggs yourself. I can conduct a brief lesson for you and Kenny on how to go about packing the eggs to ensure better survival rate.

Au, count me in for the lesson too. I've got some positive FB already and intend to add on to those.

    Hi Kho,

Haha, call it beginner's luck, I managed to offload the GUE eggs on aquabid. I must thank the successful bidder to have such a blind faith in me. For this, I'll constantly remind myself to reciprocate with lots of goodwill in the future.

I'm sure you will do much better than me, considering the number of species that you've.

And thanks for those horny Melanospilus, they're now back to their productive self after having contracted some skin flukes, and I've been vaccuuming the floor of their tanks for eggs, as they do it anytime and anywhere!

    *Au*,

I'm eternally grateful to you for having started me on the right trackin notho keeping, by passing me those GUE eggs.

I feel greatly indebted to you for this, and should you need eggs from me, just take it from me ok?

And I hope to do your RAC Beira 98 line proud. I'm now feeling the heat.

And I hope to pass my N. annectens eggs to Kho and you, just to cast the safety net abit wider....

    *Ron*

I fully agree with Au about you selling away some of your fish/eggs to get back some funds, and you damn hell overloaded with fishes and eggs! So unless you need them to make caviars, I really see no reason why you shouldn't recoup some money to fund your hobby.

    *Kwek Leong*

I'm still keeping a bag of GUE eggs for you....

    Cheers,

    Kenny

And now we all just need to confirm the time and date for Au's egg packing lesson.
