Oh, we do talk politics too but if you avoid the "Chill-Out Corner", you will be shielded from boring political talk

Thanks for the nice compliments, Dave. I don't know of anyone here keeping Diapterons but I hope it will be soon.

Well as soon as I get enough eggs for myself I hope I can try and ship some eggs to you in Asia. I am breeding my D.abacinum at 79 f and I am getting viable eggs. It is early to say anything yet but if it continues I will be happy to send some your way. There are many Asian fish I love so I am sure we can make a happy trade for fish

    79 F would be equal to 26.1 C!!

You give us hope, Dave. It has always been thought our weather is too warm for Diapterons. Tell us a bit more about your D. abacinum. Someone said they are very aggressive fish, despite their small sizes. Is that true? How long do the eggs have to be incubated before they are ready for hatching? Better still, send us some pictures.

They are very aggressive. I keep two pairs in a 5 gallon tank choked with mops both floating and a few bottom. I also beleive its O2 levels that are more critical then Temperture. I use a bucket filled with bio balls to degass the breeding tank , removes CO2 and saturates with O2. I beleive this is critical. I am currently incubating all the eggs I have collected from my two pairs I have several eyed up eggs so Ill let you know eact incubation times as I find out myself.

I love your website. I have wanted to read the article by Rudolph however every time I click on it it comes up some obscure website about music or something. Also if possible woul dlove to post the article to the Diapteron study group. Also if Rudolh has fish for sale please the group would be thrilled to hear about this.

    Hi David,

I will try fix the link ASAP. The article was also published here: http://tgenade.freeshell.org/saksnews/ the respective article is in Volume 4 Number 2. As one may notice I haven't really been very busy with SAKS for a while... too many Nothos to take care of. I'm going to pull out of the SAA too I think.

I don't think Rudolf will mind having the article published. It is best to supply his postal address as the contact info. It is on the website. I have not had contact with him for a long time now but he certainly has fish to sell but I suggest you try for eggs. He sent eggs to David Mikkelsen last year with good results. Fish were less successful. The Postal Service has changes something somewhere...

    Regards
