Hi baruch mor (May I know your name, please),
Nice tanks you have got there! How do you keep those Glossostigma lying low?

hi freddy, the "secret" is a lot of light - this tank is only 135 liters and has 150w of 5200K mh + 2*24w of T5 bulbs (gro-lux n 6500k).
u neet to trim it very often and sometimes to take out a bunch of old glosso and let the new leaves to spread again.
but i already dumped the glosso for hemiantu calitrichoides - maybe less impresive , but much more exotic n less work . here is the same tank with different foreground:

Dear baruch mor,
Can you tell me your tank parameters in details?
Very nice tanks Baruch. I would ease up on the fish though.
Regards,
Dennis
yes dennis , im trying to hold myself now , but when i c the fish from south america , i cant hold myself...
maybe one day ill go for killies , who knows...
tank parameters:
kh 5-6
ph 6.1-6.3
gh - high
light - already wrote
no3 - 20 ppm
po4 - 1 ppm
k - high, never check only dose more KCL and some blend i make myself
fe - high , never check only make my own "flourish fe"
sometimes i give my plants treats like enzymes, hormones and ammonium
With that combination of KH and pH, are you adding any CO2? Your [CO2] should automaticly be over 30 ppm if you reduce surface water turbulance. See the chart at http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/CO2/kh-ph-co2-chart.html.
Good to see you dosing with K. Plants need this mineral very very much. Far more than Iron IMHO. Plants will begin to suffer from a K deficiency long before they should problems of too little Fe.
Very curious...
of course i dose co2 - thats way my ph is low
Great looking tanks you have there, Baruch Mor. Is that Glossosstigma elatinoides in the foreground in one of the tanks? It sure forms a nice and lush carpet.
You have to forgive us but we know little about Israeli names? Is Baruch your family name or should we address you as Mr Mor? Please let us know.
Loh K L
hi loh , baruch is my first name , and u can use it - no need for Mr.
anyway , the first tank is G. elatinoides and the last one is H. calitrichoides
Very well, Baruch. It's nice to have you on-board. What's the aquaria scene in Israel like? Are aquatic plants easily available? You seem to have quite a good variety in your tanks.Originally Posted by baruch mor
I like the tank in your 4th picture best. It has the Amano look. If you fill up the bald patch in the foreground though, the tank will look even better. Amano's photographs of his tanks often include the surface of the water. It gives the tank a more natural look.

Wow...nice tanks. Try to reduce the type of fishes inside the tank. Normally saw Amano setup with just 1-2 types of fishes only.
And...Try to take the picture when the fishes "in school".

Man dude-- the judges are going to gripe so much about your water line!! Why didn't you fill up the tank and hide/remove the equipment before shooting!! They are definitely going to ***** about all that. They are such awesome tanks too! [/i]
