Hi All. I think I am going to orde or bid on some eggs. Does any body know of or had any dealings with Aquariman or Pillet or www.killifishsource.com. Thinking on Simpsonichthys, Aphyolebias,or Callopanchax which ever I win or is available. This will be my first aquabid experience I have already done mail order on other types of fish. Any feed back appreciated. Sincerely Curtis

    Re: thinking on ordering

    Curtis,
"Pillet" is a good man. He's the one who got me off with Simp magnificus before anyone else was interested in killifishes, locally that is. Comes with my personal recommendations. "Aquariaman" is OK too.

Killifishsource, aka David, is undergoing major tank move (and house move too, I think) and I'm not sure when he'll be back online [but it'd better be soon, before his good customers start losing faith]
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,

One of his good customers (after forking out $100+) was about to contact the AKA's ethics committee until that post appeared in killietalk...

    Tyrone,

The AKA Ethics Committee has nothing to do with David's business. It is only concerned with AKA members using the F&E listings in the BNL (and, by inference the AKA site). Don't expect the AKA to bail you out from a dispute on Aquabid or elsewhere.

    Caveat emptor applies there.

    Hi Curtis,

I've dealt with Pillet many times and he is a good man and very good breeder too.

Sound point Wright, but my friend was an AKA member as is David and from what I recall the Code of Ethics covers all business between AKA members (which why being an AKA member does have its trading perks tat you can't get on Aquabid).

In any case, David is good guy and some people can get real paranoid when their emails go unanswered...

Tyrone, when money is involved and emails are sent out promptly, it is only fair that the sellers reply ASAP. Thats what I call basic courtesy.

Paranoia is commonplace but it tells you that some people are dead serious about getting fish. Reputation is everything for a seller that does business over the web and through Aquabid. What does bad feedback sound to you? Would that be good for business?

Probably not and I would not blame people for being paranoid when it comes to their money and the getting the stuff they paid or ordered for.

Unanswered emails are just the tip of the iceberg. I believe you didn't answer one of my emails some years ago about your Chrom. poliaki Bolifamba.

Now, should I get paranoid about that?

Yangyang, it is also common practice that some seller would want to make up for the delay in replying the email to give some fish free of charge.

Mmmmm If Tyron does that please squish some egg for me please.

Thanks for replyies to my post all. Sounds like killie source is not such a good idea right now. I hope all gets taken care of and products /fish arrive to those who ordered them. Am sorry that that there are problems. Glad I posted or I might be one of the ones posting that I haven't gotten my fish yet. Sincerely curtis :P

Your memory needs upgrade, Tyrone. [Thought I was the one whose memory is his second-shortest thing. ] I quote from item 12 of the COE as posted at www.aka.org:

"... 12) Transactions among AKA members are bound by this Code of Ethics provided the transactions were initiated by a listing in the BNL from one or more affected parties. ..."

I'd bet you can't get Dr. Dave Koran to give you the time of day over an Aquabid problem.
