Can someone help to identify these killies. Are they a male and female of the same species? Thanks

Not even from the same continent.
Male Nothobranchius rachovii I would say - check with the image in the upper left hand corner.
Male Simpsonichthys of some sort - unsure of which - constanciae may-be.

    Dianliang,

First pic is of a male Nothobranchius rachovii, second pic is of a male Simpsonichthys constanciae.

If you got both from the shops then they're aquarium strain. Note however that if you got them as a pair, then they were a mismatched pair. I've seen this practice at some LFS. Whether it is done deliberately by them or the farms, I don't know.

The rachovii male is showing signs of spinal curvature. This can either be genetic or environmentally caused. Old age will also play a part in most cases so your male is probably very old at time of purchase.

Thanks for your information. I did get them as a pair from a fish shop, was attracted by the male Nothobranchius rachovii. I should have done more research before buying. Is there any place i can get a female Nothobranchius rachovii in Singapore? Thanks

Yes you should have done more research beforehand but since you've bought them there's no turning back.

Getting a female rachovii can be a little difficult for now. Join us for our gathering on May 28th at Eco-Culture @ Cichlids Forever, and you might be able to purchase an aquarium strain female/pairs or eggs, depending on which is available.

    Good Luck.

actually it is no longer at Simon Road. It is actually along Upper Serangoon Road, across from the petrol kiosk next to Lim Ah Pin Road.

    Choy,

I don't know if it's the same company but are you aware that many people/businesses have been sued and made to pay thousands of dollars because they either link to or put up maps on their web sites without knowing that they were breaching copyrights?

Even NTUC was sued. Several of those who were sued got together to tried to fight their case in court but they lost.

I took a look at the link you showed us and the "user agreement" there seems to be very complicated. Like I said, I don't know if its the same company but for the sake of our health, I have no choice but to remove your link.

no problem, since I know where CF is

as to that link I was under the impression that you can post a link to their page (after all that's like helping them advertise) but you cannot copy their map and attach or hotlink here. but anyway better to err on the side of prudence
