    Hi Loh,

I have been observing my mosses condition and seems to find that they have brown patches instead of full lush green. Am I doing something wrong?

The mosses traps a lot of dirt and debris underneath them. How do I overcome this?

    Thanks in advance

    Jerry,

When mosses turn brown, it's usually because the temperature is too high. What's your temp? Mosses get choked with debris and dirt if your filter system is poor. What are you using for filtration? Do you have algae-eaters in the tank? Otos can't eat all algae but they help to keep moss clean when they move over the leaves and stir up the dust.

I have ottos, flying fox, and lizard fish to help to stir up but there is too many debris around.

Relocate your tank to a cooler place . You have to give in to the moss condition if you want them to grow well for you.

BTW, those netting on the wall of the tank can be a death trap for the fish if they managed to sqeeze in.

    Turaco,

I wish I'm that fortunate to have places to relocate ( at least for now )

    Jerry,

A good sized fan should be able to keep the temperature of your tank at 28 degrees C and below. If you're not getting that, there could be 3 reasons. One, your fan is too small. Two, you are not running it 24 hours a day. Three, you're blowing it in the wrong direction. To be effective, the fan should blow directly downwards into the tank.

Looks more like an algae problem to me Jerry as you still have green growth coming out. Maybe the algae though is a result of the temperature? Do you see algae off your ferns or other plants?

This is my weeping moss with closer to the bottom than the light and it still looks pretty well in my conditions.

Ok I'll try to change me fans tomorrow. I'm already using 4 ADA FLs per 180 Lt tank. I house ventilation is poor in the afternoon and I can't fit in a chiller.

The fans is running 20 hours a day from 7am till 3am.
