I think 6 months ago. Funny, now the male Nijsenni has a red rim at the tail instead of yellow previously.

that change in colour comes from the food and condition of yr tank
the red in the tail is normal... you can see a pic of my old male nij in my photo gallery... under the old tank. The female was even more beautiful but couldn't get a good pic of her.
problem with tohs apistos are that they have been inbred too much... you can see the diff between the ones in your pic and my old one.

Yes. Could be inbreeding problem. I notice the shape not so nice in the female. And one of her fin a little crooked.

No... that particular Nij was bought from Pet Safari... so its a direct import... The bluish sheen is actually not so strong... a bit of the trick of the light, but its there. The female is actually much more beautiful... with her full yellow body... I've yet to see any really nice Nijsenni lately, even those at pet safari are pretty bad.
