Hi all, long time no posting
I have been staying in the mountain, guarding a Falcon nest with 4 youngster, extremely nice birds

Anyway, here is a picture of one of my newest species, a lovely fish, and they are producing a lot of eggs in peat.

BTW I got 30 eggs from Didier Pillet, France some time ago from the species Leptolebias aureoguttatus "Iguape" and have now 23 fries, this is a species I have looking for for a long time now, and it's a F1
Take care, and now i'm looking for the summer, i haven't seen it yet
    Regards
    Svein

    Very nice fish, Svein.
And about the summer - we have not hid in Sweden at least.
We are also looking for it...
Conspiracy theories are even starting to surface in Swedish press.
I ask - Where is global warming when you need it?

Svein, you'll be the second person in the forum to move to Thailand after Bill, that is, when he does join his Mrs in Thailand.

That's a very nice fish you got there and great news about the Leptolebias. About the falcons, which species are they? Peregrine falcons?

Erik, you can have Singapore's heat anytime. Its really too warm here.

    Yes i know,
I usually complain about the heat when I am in the Philippines.
But, we are really lacking summer weather up north at the moment.

Nice dog, Svein. And the fish is lovely too.

I've never thought of the Fundulopanchax group to be among the more beautiful Killies but your picture has changed that impression.

What can I offer in trade to get some eggs in return?

Svein, according to information on Tim Addis's website, Alf and Anita sent him some pictures of the Ughelli population that showed alot of variability in the males of the first generation and subsequent generations. If I recall correctly, the Ughelli population is a fish that is more orange in colour, although I read somewhere that there was a blue form.

Ah, the Gyrfalcon, Falco rusticolus, a nice bird in winter plumage. You must have had a nice time spotting them in the nest. You looked like you were camped on some tundra landscape. Nice handsome dog you got there.

I waited to let Svein answer this comment.
Because we are close to the Swedish-Norwegian brotherhood quarrels.
But most of Norway actually looks this way.
At least that is what we Swedes presume.

Addendum. Norway finally got their independence 100 years ago (plus a few days) by peacefully separation from Sweden. But most of the historic time Norway was governed from Denmark. Compare the Norwegian flag to the Danish - which by the way is the oldest national flag of them all.

Yup I recalled that Sweden and Norway were once a unified nation before the separation of the two Kingdoms.

And yes I did remember that the flag of Denmark was the oldest among the Scandinavian flags.

All of the Scandinavian flags have that cross in the field. Only difference is that Norway's a red cross superimposed on a white cross and a dark blue background if I recall correctly.

Sweden is just a yellow cross on a lighter blue background. Denmark is a white cross on a red background and I remember Iceland was once part of Denmark too?

It seems the royal families can trace their lineage to the Kings of Denmark right? Correct me if I was wrong.

Denmark is the oldest of all national flags. Something to be proud of.
The flag you describe as Norwegian is actually the Icelandic and yes they were also part of Denmark.
Greenland still is by the way.
Norway's flag is a blue cross superimposed on the Danish flag.
The royal families has indeed been inter-married thru history.
That is how they tried to established power and possibly peace in older times.
Denmark was the oldest arch enemy of Sweden.
Until we changed to have Russia as our main enemy say about 200 years ago.

Thanks Erik. That was highly insightful. I've always been fascinated with Scandinavian history and the stories of the Vikings and Norsemen.

Could someone please edit the title of this thread, as there is only one "P" in Fundulopanchax? [Can it even be done without screwing up the threading?]
