I have a male of Beira 98 population with deformity. Does anyone here encounter this before?

Not with Nothos or with balloon-like shape but experienced kinkies more than I care to remember.

Edwin, I recall Wright suggesting that it could be related to heavy metals in the water and that the deformity is probably environmental, rather than genetics.

I have a few SJO Niger Delta that's kinked but plan to breed them anyway, to see for myself if that can be corrected.

It may be an isolated occurence but should be worthwhile looking into it.

PS: Some of us are on dial-up and with a 700+kb image, it takes more than just a while for the download. Time to resize perhaps?

Thanks for your comments. I do not plan to use the male to breed. However, I will monitor the subsequent generations for any deformity.

I have resized the file and i hope now it is more manageable.
