Aphyosemion hera

Hi Ron,

I'll probably drop by this weekend to have a look at the journals. My scanner's still working so I'll make some PDFs out of them when I have the time. The container was the hatching tray. I moved it out to a bigger container but it's just wiggling around on the bottom. Getting a mix of the 3 worm foods I have, but it's not very active. Just sluggishly moving around.

Going a little OT is fine at times, just not over OT.

To Tyrone:

Yup I did that but to date I cannot find a single egg in either peat he sent. I probably sifted through the small amount of peat over and over and nothing was found. I remember the bags were sent during the period that Europe was hit by that devastating Atlantic storm. So they were pretty much doomed. Having one survivor is better than none though.

This Aphyosemion is the only one I truly like, out of the entire Aphyosemion group. A good friend of mine in Europe is helping me to source for coded pairs of hera, and hopefully in late April or May, he can send me some test eggs. I had superb luck with Rivulus eggs shipped in fairly soggy peat with a damp paper towel around it, and wrapped further in tin foil. Worked like a charm. Out of 20 eggs, only 1 fungused in transit. The rest hatched out in good order. So hopefully this method can be applied to shipping Aphyosemion eggs to Singapore.

Oh and I'm totally giving coolwater killies a miss. No point keeping something that needs me to fork out more money for a chiller unit.

if you can get the journal out to single pages I can get them scanned very fast as my office printer has a auto feeding scanner that will generate PDF directly.

Hmm, well I'll just rely on the old school scanning method.

Day 4 -



The fry's been gorging itself silly on generous amounts of walter, banana and microworms daily.
It's gotten a little bigger, and fatter now too. The excess worms are fed daily to my ravenous Cardinal Tetras. They eat almost anything that moves, so they're like my underwater vacuum machine.
