Not everything seems right at Aquabid.
I have observed for example the following events.
One guy auctions eggs - lately some very exclusive ones.
Another guy won 3 of 7 auctions during the last 45 days.
And that guy was also a high bidder in another 3 auctions of the first guy.
He/she also won some auctions of the first guy earlier.
(I am checking you two guys out...)
I never seen the second guy as a winner of any other guy's auction.
Funny, that the second guy has no feed-back at all still winning some very interesting auctions.
And the first guy never got any feed-back from the second guy.
(Nobody bid at the 7th auction by the way).
Do you have the same suspicion as I have?

I won an auction earlier from this guy but I donīt remember if the second guy was involved then.
However, I have at least 18 rapidly growing N. orthonotus from that transaction.

There is another problem child now winning a lot of auctions but plenty more than he gets feed-back from.
He won two of my auctions but did not pay.
Suddenly he gave me positive feed-back but has not still paid me.
He comes from the same French city as another guy "currently suspended"...

These two examples really takes the fun out of contributing or bidding at Aquabid.

    Erik,
The fish site smells of dead rats!

Plishing is sending authentic looking emails warning of pending account suspension, etc, and to 'reactivate' our accounts, we need to log in with our ID's and passwords.

That seemingly innocent act gives away access to our accounts and it isn't just fish sites. Ebay, Paypal and local banking institutions are all fair game.

Either that particular Aquabid account has been compromised or we could have two very desperate killie-keepers!

    Care to enlighten me off-forum?

    All,
When in doubt, write to the alleged organisation to verify the email authencity. Don't compromise yourself.

Erik, I think I know which French guy you are referring to.

If you could, contact me via PM and we can exchange some personal observations. Apparently there's alot of "phishing" not "plishing" going on. Some are the same people who registered different nicknames and are bidding on their own auctions to push up the bids or to boost their user feedbacks. It is best to view the person's feedback by looking at the Unique Users information. Most of the time if its feedback from a single party then probably that buyer was a super rich guy OR, he was the same person as the seller. Either way its hard to say. We all just have to tread carefully when we can't trace where the buyers are from.

Good luck on getting payment from that fella. I think he's a bogus bidder and must be either related, or is the same person as the one who was already suspended. Besides, that fella also has multiple nicks and it comes as no surprise if they're one and the same.

The French guy has also won two auctions from me. At first I didn't notice anything funny, but I started smelling a rat when he keep dragging the payment, and it didn't feel right when the 2 bags he won was the same species (GUE), and he was also bidding on other people's auction of the same fish!

Now, I think he is back again with another nickname, and is doing the same thing all over again.

I don't really know what his agenda is, as none of us believed that we've antagonised him or anything.

Anyway, I've added in my auction that any successful bidder would have to pay up within 7 days, and I reserve the right to award the auction to the next highest bidder should payment be defaulted. Hopefully, this will stop that guy from messing everything up.

Hahahah, thats sound like what happen when i started keeping killie. I just hit on anythings look pretty/ unique to me. Before i know it, i am responsible for babysitting 8 species.

8 species for a newbie... disaster.

Of course i have my list of favourite seller which i will always hit whenever i see their auction and it looks pretty to me.

    Hello erik!

I would just like to share with you that the only problem I had with all my aquabid transactions, occurred with a french guy... Funny! And I have another friend that had problems with that same guy! However, I also know very nice and very professional french keepers that have nothing to do with these problems (Mr Didier Pillet for example).

Let not a few bad apples make difficult the lives of dedicated kille breeders. Not just the French people but every country also have it's fair share of untrustworthy characters. Agree with Ruben though, Didier is a fine chap who honors his deals.

Well, I don't think it is the nationality actually, just that individual human, if he can still called that.

Well, I hope he's not sinister in nature, as I've provided him with my name and adress, as he had to told me he'd send $$ over, yikes!

    Cheers,

Well, today I suddenly got paid. About 45 days late.
Checking out Aquabid today I found that he already got suspended.

    Hi Erik,

You're lucky, he still hasn't paid for my 2 auctions which he won. But it's only been like 2 weeks, probably gonna wait another 30 days before he pays up. Or shall I see if he breaks this record as well?

Btw, how did he pay you, by Western Union?

    Cheers,

    Kenny

No, He sent me Euros as agreed early upon.
Well, he is now suspended so he has not really got nothing to gain by following thru on his deals.
But I think his reasons for bidding is a mystery for all others.

Well, I suspect he's back with another nick. If you notice, the new guy called Salamanders is having the same bidding pattern as Animalfish.

And guess what, the last email address that Animalfish used to correspond with me was [email protected]!

    Coincidence? I don't think so....

I think my suspicion is being confirmed, as Aquabid has also banned the guy with the nick Salamanders!
