I'm attracted to Chromaphyosemions like moth to a flame and maintaining multiple populations require discipline. Combine distractions and memory lapses, things can get nightmarish.

Folks, the following SPLs are what I raised from fry and transferred to a growout tank in Jan 2005. They have matured beautifully but the irony is, I don't know which population they are

Recall making labels for them, got distracted and when I saw them again the next day, all I can remember was that, these 6 siblings were either splendopleure 'Mbonge' or 'Bamukong Ombe River'













I don't have the heart to cull them but neither will these be circulated. Enjoy the beauty of the splendopleures as they are.

No reason you cannot circulate them, just without a location when you are not sure. I (and most other killy keepers) have no great prejudice against an attractive aquarium strain.

They don't really look quite like the Mbonge I used to keep. Mine were a fairly dark bronze on the body, and very different from any othe SPP I have seen. They are similar, tho, in their lack of distinctive markings and lighter fin tips.

PS Should I be going after some of those Ekondo Tikis (sp?) as my gaudy Chromaphyo? I also like the BIT Lagos a lot.
