A very bad week. Got a pair of beautifully golden S. auratus but for some reason they didn't even make it back home!
And another pair of Aphyolebias sp. 153 (I think, what exactly are they) I put them in a betta tank with a glass lid (and yes there are NO holes), now I can only find the male. The female has vanished and I could not find the body. Now after taking some pix, I notice there are several fungused eggs among the moss.
anyway just some temporary pix of the male, need to heal his dorsal fin and also he's not very keen on displaying his fins, and the colours are not showing

This 153 is currently assigned to Aphyolebias rubrocaudatus. That is a nice male there but he is definitely stressed out. I find that on occasions they will scatter their eggs on plants when they are spooked by something or sudden movements. This is after I observed similar shaped SAAs doing this.

Choy, this is my best shot in its peat-filled tank. Can't seems to calm them in a clearly lit tank. More colour spots on the body should be seen.
Got some eggs to hatch on the 15th of November
Lets see what comes out.
And yeah its now aphyolebias rubrocaudatus "153"

These are coded with 153 and come from Cocha Fundo Shape. Same biotope with Moema quiii, which preys on this species.
