Gloup Gloup: No answer to your question but I noticed a few cream colored fry with my Aust. nigripinnis also.
Hello every body
Yesterday I put some eggs of (Nematolebias) Simpsonichtys "whitei Cabo Frio" in water and this morning the numbers of fry was greats but my question is 46 fry was darks grey brown colors and 14 fry was light cream colors ..... so is this posible from one species to got 2 colors from the same population or it could be a risk of corrupted genus by some others population or some close related species
Thanks

Marc,
You can try raising the 14 light-colored fry separately from others and see what you get later.
If it was corruption or worse, more than just the whitei, then ouch! Feel sorry for you but "tsk tsk tsk" to the seller (or wherever you've gotten the eggs from) for slack handling.
Interested in the results, so keep us posted.
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,
Ronnie Lee
Hi RonWill
Yes this is what I have done to the fry, they are in a separated small tank end they will be separated until they got adult size, and I do not buy the eggs it was a exchange with a lady from the Argentina so I don't know if she take care to not in-breed species or if she are serious but for now everything is Ok, the fry are very healthy and I am sure they will grow fast , so let see ........
Did some body keep some fish which become albinos spontaneous
I drop a message to the lady today but she do not reply to my message yet but I will let you know in the future what append to this fry
Thank's to all

Simp. whitei is known to produce albino types. Likewise for nigripinnis. Remove and raise the cream fish separately. If they are not albino whitei then you blast the silly-billy who sent you the eggs.
Regards
As Tyrone has mentioned, whitei does produce an albino form, as does nigripinnis too. But if you have both normals and albinos in the same brood, one or both of the parents are either full albino or they carry the albino gene in their bloodline.
But if the odd fry are not whitei, then perhaps the person who sent you the eggs had made a big mix-up. Such things occur even when you ensure the utmost care in packing the eggs.![]()
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
If both parents carried the recessive allele (gene variant), then the 25% of the offspring would show the albino phenotype, which is about what you see. My guess: albinos, based on the slim info supplied.
Hello and sorry friend I was out for the last week ...
The person which I exchange some eggs was a Lady from Argentina
And because I did not take contac with this person, I can't said something bad about that trade so if you said it could " maybe " be some recessive allele of albinos fish... for now I will accept this possibility untile I talk or write to the Lady
The fish do well for now, and you do not have to be worry if I have to kill all the suspect fish I will do it with no probleme but first I will ask to the Lady what this mind first
Sorry for my English and thanks

Marc, I had similar result from the bag of egg from someone in Argentina also. I yield two fish one black one white. I guess Michael Jackson song is the favorite of their Austrolebias Nigripinnis.Originally Posted by Gloup-Gloup

The package is more wet that when i first send them out. I had the same "wetness" last time when i receive eggs from you. Any idea how postoffice inject water into the package? Or it pickup from atmosphere condensation?
