You mean no eggs at all?
Look at the pic above and tell me what you think it is. I found these rather sizeable fragments of some material in a bag of N. fuscotaeniatus peat I bought from a seller in Argentina. I am definitely displeased with their presence.
Instead of finding any good fry or eggs, I found these.![]()

KeeHoe.
Looks like it. I sifted through the peat and got nothing there. I may be mistaken though. Alot of the peat was floating about and I found some of these fragments among them.
The last time I had such odd items in the peat was in a bag of Aphyosemion hera eggs that came from the US. In that bag, the peat contained pieces of green planter foam meant for decorative arrangement of fake flowers..![]()

The fragments look like they're plastic to me. It's odd that such materials are packed with the peat.
I just got a bag of peat from someone who lives in France. The sender went through a lot of effort packing the eggs. They were packed in a plastic bag, wrapped with aluminium foil and a piece of sponge. The whole package was placed in a cardboard box and sealed with tape. I appreciate his efforts very much. For every bad sender of eggs, there's a good one, I suppose.

Well I occasionally find such items in the peat. I don't know why but the peat quality varies from country to country. I thought these fragments were pieces of plastic too. Some were pretty sharp-edged. I had to pick them out from the peat using a tweezer because some were very narrow. They look like shards of plastic shavings to me.
Likewise, eggs that I received from Bulgaria were very nicely packed too and since the Rivulus eggs arrived in very good shape and eventually hatched, I'd say these folks are very good too.![]()
