Hi all,
Just wanted to wish you all a happy and prosperous holiday season. Hope new year brings you all the best and plenty of killifish.
Well since my enquiring about getting killies into Australia -legally I might add- I've acquired through really great people a number of species from around the country to add to the 6 species I already kept. It was a surprise to find some of these fish already in Australia. The challenge for me now to make sure I pass on at least 5 preferably 10 pairs of each species I have to fellow hobbiest over here in the next 12 months (my new year resolution).
The good news is I have fertile eggs and/or, fry and/or juveniles of pretty much all of the 13 species I maintain at the moment. I find to be serious about my new years resolution I have to dedicate min. 3 tanks per species which is what I've done.
What do you think min. tank requirements are for maintaining a species longer term? In the past through various unforseen circumstances I lost species I maintained in 3-4 tanks and one species -striatum to be exact- I managed to maintain over 9 years even though periodically I was down to a single tank of the jewels!
Anyway, before I go further off in a tangent,
Cheers,
Serkan
