Think it is a type of fissidens. Found also at Nature Aquarium:

Think it is a different version from the following due to different length:

Please help to identify both plants. Thanks!

Hi myrontay (is this your name ?),
I am afraid we can't ID NA's Fissidens from your photo. To id it we will need to have a sample of it to examine under microscope and know where it originates from.

I think NA is selling that piece at a very exorbitant price. I can't remember the exact figure but I told my self I'll wait ;-)

Although like Gan said, it's impossible to identify a Fissidens from a photo, I'm quite sure the moss in question is Fissidens fontanus. I know because a fish shop owner who's selling this moss told me the supplier, a hobbyist who's growing lots of them got his first few fronds from Bioplast fish shop. And it was from the sample that came from Tony (aka Gomer) who lives in the United States.

I congratulate the hobbyist who has lots of this moss now and is selling them through several fish shops. When I gave it to Bioplast, it was my hope that either they or one of their customers would be successful in propagating it. I wish he wouldn't sell the moss at such high prices though.

    Thanks, everyone.

What are the requirements of this type of plant?

Just wanted to update everyone on the upkeep of fissidens fontanus in my tank. Seems like it is quite an easy moss to maintain, just some good light and some carbon dioxide and you can't stop them from growing. A picture of my shrimp tank can be found by clicking on the following link: My Tank

BTW, I have concluded that the the two pictures I had posted earlier are of the same plant species. One is just more advanced in growth than the other.

Hi myrontay, I saw your picture and one of the mosses listed is "spiky moss". May I know the scientific name of this moss?

    Hi Jason

Not really sure, but it could be taxiphyllum giraldii. More on the following thread: taxiphyllum giraldii
