Nice tank, James. But why do you need a heater in the tank? What's that blue gadget doing in the tank if you're already using undergravel filters?
Is the male alone or is there a female somewhere?

Hi Folks
Here is a pic of a new tank I recently done. Its a 10 Gallon or 38l. It is home to my A. cacatuoides. No ferts, no co2, 1wpg. Thanks for looking, comments are welcome.
Plants are:
Anubias
Java fern (Wide leaf, Narrow leaf and Windelov)
Hygrophila Long leaf.
Here's the local resident:
Kind regards

Thanks for the comments Loh, my first name is Cameron BTWOriginally Posted by timebomb
Its been raining here in Johannesburg the last few days and the temps have dropped quite a bit, hence the heater. The blue gadget is a filter, I'm not using undergravel filters at all, the tank itself has a filter built into the hood but the pump it came with has a very strong flow and is non-adjustable, thats the reason for the internal filter. There is only 1 male with 4 females (lucky bugger) but no spawning as yet. Do you have any tips for spawning this species?
Kind regards

Cameron,
Nice setup! Your choice of the island aquascape is very sensible.
I have been looking for awhile as I felt something is not right. I think the gravel is a bit distracting. Perhaps the multi-colours (and the contrasting white and red/brown) did that. I would suggest removing those white gravels.

Thanks for the comments, and yes I do believe you are right. I'm waiting for a small parcel of E.Tennelus to arrive which will be going into this tank. Hopefully it will grow a nice carpet and cover all that gaudy gravel.
If I don't receive the package I was thinking of going with white sand instead of dark, I think it may look nice in such a setup, yes?
Cheers for now and thanks again for the constructive criticism
Kind Regards
