Wow, your first killies, and you're starting from eggs? (I'm too chicken to do that).

Best of Luck to you and your killies!

Nice to know that you have australes in your tanks Nicky. I should go back to my roots and start afresh with some Aphyosemion australe.

Yes you should, Jian Yang. At least that way, you won't wander off into limbo-land.
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,

Staying in limbo land is pretty fun. Takes out alot of the stress.

But to stay on topic, I definitely need a fresh dose of killifish fever. Time to take out some eggs out of storage and give them a good wetting and hopefully none have died from the lack of attention.

Sounds like you're doing very well with your Australes.
I bought a pair myself two months ago.......my first Killifish also and I now have two pairs in a well planted 10 gallon tank with pygmy cory's.
How big are australe eggs ? My fish are often seen in Java moss side by side shaking but I've never seen any eggs. Is my water temperature ok at 80 deg f ?

    Many thanks............. Gary

hey gary I have my killifish at 75F in a bare 2.5gal with a green mop (they seem toi like that color) and i feed them live food and frozen food. they breed every week. the eggs are the size of a pin head and they shine when light is placed on them.

    Thanks for that Nick.
I feed mine on frozen food with flake food as the main food but also give them live food every other day. I have white worms in a breeding box & also buy brine shrimp & bloodworms every week.
Perhaps the Pygmy Corydoras are eating the eggs as I have regularly seen them " Grazing " amongst the Java Moss that the australes look to be spawning in.

    Many thanks.. Gary.
