Hi
I'm a new forum member, and new to the AKA and to killifish. My first killi will be arriving in about 2 weeks, and will be a pair of Fp. gardneri "Makurdi". I have no experience with these fish, but do have a 10 gallon heavily planted tank whose only other occupants are 2 white cloud minnows who have been cycling the tank for over a month, an oto and 2 inch long amano shrimp.
I also have a 2.5 gallon tank that is cycling with a beta, and several java ferns.
My questions are:
1. is this killi ok in my 10 gallon community tank? I've seen stories of other species in this family bite off other fishes tails and eat shrimp.
2. is there any plants that are particullary good for this killi? I have secured the lid so that there are no ways out, and I've planted the tank in such a way that dwarf onion plant fronds block the view of the only "escape hatch" (which is also covered by nylon mesh).
3. I was planning on putting a couple of fancy guppies in the tank once the killis adapt to their new home. Is there any problems with the current white cloud minnows, the killis, the oto and guppies?
Thanks
