How long this killifish can live and how long female killifish can produce eggs?.Thanks.

It depends very much on the particular species, and the conditions of their home.

Most killies live about as long as other tropical fish of similar size and activity level. Some favor annualism, and only live from 1.5 to 3 years, as they grow quickly and burn out earlier. Most others live from 2-5 years, depending on conditions. Keep cooler for long life, in general.

With well over 700 identified species, I am sure my generalizations are not very informative, and that some have lifespans outside my description.

The life span of a living organism is subjected to many factors. For instance, humans are expected to live an average of 70 years or so but as you would surely know, there are many of us who can beat that average and just as many who cannot. How long you live depends very much on your lifestyle and your environment.

So it's the same with Killies. Annuals are so called because in the places where they live, the ponds dry up so they die when there's no more water. But in our tanks which never dry, they can live far longer than a year. I once had a male Nothobranchius guentheri that live for about 2 years in my tank.

As for how long a female Killifish can keep on producing eggs, I think it's as long as they live, provided they are healthy, of course.
