    Hello everyone,
I wonder the growth rates of Aphyosemion australe and Fp. garneri nigerianus "Jos Plateu" fry, which one grows faster?
After how many months they grow enough to be smaller versions of the adults?
I also wonder the size of the fry at two and three months.
I would love to see some fry photos, I found little info about this subject. Curious newbie wants to know
    Regards,
    Yıldız

I thought that a lot of people were breeding these two species.

Yildiz, I cannot help you much in this case, but a rough estimate would put australes reaching a decent size in 6 weeks or so. I did not have much success with australes as a whole and have never kept a single gardneri strain at home either.

    Hi Yıldız,

Growth rate of any killifish fry depend on many environmental conditions like temp, water quality, available food etc.

But all being equal you'll probably find both australe and Jos Plateau will start growing at the same rate but after the first cm or two of growth the Jos Plateau starts to put on more bulk than australe.

You'll find at about 3 months they'll be small versions of the adults, albeit the colours not as bright and the spot pattern not developed into exactly how they'll look when they are full grown adults.

I do not have photos of fry or juveniles of both species, but how about photo of a fairly young australe:

They are both fairly easy to raise. If you do not have much experience with them, please keep the fry seperate as you might have difficulty telling apart the australe and the Jos Plateau females apart.

çok güzel balıklar, iyi şanslar dilerim
