    Hello "hosiewthean".

First of all Welcome to the forum.

I'm sure I won't be the only one saying this to you, but please read the Forum Netiquette in the Notice Board of this forum. It says that members should try writing in standard English, not perfect grammatically English per se, but English that everyone could understand. This means no "Singlish" or other "chat talk"; after all, this forum is really an international forum and not everyone are adept reading or deciphering those SMS language.

It also says that we should put our real name in our messages. I believe by doing this, the person writing messages is more "human".

There are few more rules that you should read and follow to keep this forum in "high" quality. Thanks again for joining this forum and hopefully your question(s) should be answered soon.

    Siew Thean,

Is that your real name? We will be happy to address you by a real name, if you have one

As Randall has pointed out, we have some unusual rules in this forum. We do not expect that everyone writes in good English but we hope you will refrain from using Singlish words like "sifu". The users here come from many countries and they probably won't understand what "sifu" means. We want them to feel at home here so we hope everyone makes an effort to spell correctly and to avoid using Singlish words or sms shortforms. You may also like to take note that with the English language, one dot is enough to end a sentence. Putting too many dots in between sentences will only confuse the reader.

The fish you have is probably a Nothobranchius eggersi. Yours is a male. Do you have the females?

On the other hand, I'm actually quite glad you made the mistake of posting it up publicly, Randall. We need more of you to help us achieve the high standards we aspire for this forum. Don't worry. You were very nice and polite with your reminders. I'm sure hosiewthean won't take offence with what you've written.

Hello to the thread starter. Yes, at first glance it looks like Nothobranchius eggersi. The red strain is fairly common in the hobby. Where did you get this male from? If you could say the shop in question, then perhaps its easier to track down the code.

On the other hand however, if you got this from an LFS, I'm highly doubtful it has a code to begin with. That however should not stop you from enjoying a beautiful species of Nothobranchius.
    Fish.. Simply Irresistable
    Back to Killies... slowly.
