Thanks that helped put a little light on the situation
My husband saw something that was about 4 inches long that swam like an eel in a tank at the LFS and I've narrowed it to a rope fish or a Kuhli Loach.

why not considered an eel instead? Kuhli are much smaller than the expected 4 inches, they look cute especially in numbers. What did you say your hubby tank was? just fish or a planted tank?

It's my tank he just like's to help pick up the fish. Trying to get it planted, but I have to order everything in since the fish store's here only have a VERY limited amt. of plants and I'm just a beginner. Right now, I have a little amazon sword in the tank and am awaiting a shipment for fertilizer.

oh, if that is the case then you should avoid having a ropefish in a planted tank, get kuhli instead, they are more fun to look at
