When I was browsing the gallery of Benny, I stumbled upon this moss "Hwchoy Moss"... Checked with Choy, they have found in the drain of Singapore.. How lucky? and which to name after him.

Any moss to share around? You should have some under your keep, right?

P/s: Hi, benny, you dun mind me post your pic. If u do, i shall remove it. thanks.

Benny, is this the moss given to Bioplast to propagate? otherwise I don't know why it is tagged with my name huh? if it is, then actually it is subzero who found it. This is the 17th species of Fissidens found in Singapore, but for some reason Prof Benito of RMBR insists it cannot be found here.

I think it is the moss found during the AQ outing in Dec 05 at Teo's farm.

Someone say you saw it first and pointed it out, I think... Need to check the outing thread...

It is a terrestrial moss, by the way.

Hmm. It's from the outing. I think it was Choy who was pointing it out to us, so it was named after him until we find out what it actually was. Obviously, we didn't go very far with it.

rebox4190, you can link the pictures directly from the source instead of re-uploading them individually.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

I think I was confused with the terrestrial moss of the same growth pattern... This Hwchoy moss is aquatic? If so, then can name the terrestrial form Justikanz moss? Haha...

if aquatic, then probably good to compare it with erect moss and stringy moss...

maybe you can try pushing those in your tank into the water and see if they survive?

Either that, the ones you have are different from those in ahkarboy's tank.
