Barbus hulstaerti

Hi all,
Here's my current 'project' and this shot is for Rahul, taken with a borrowed Pentax *istD fitted with Elicar V-HQ Macro 90mm.


This dominant Barbus hulstaerti male is flaring to a passing female. Terrible shot, horrible depth-of-field with a little dinky pop-up flash but it's the best I could do especially when the water is tannic like black tea.

Temp is 25C and I don't expect anything... but it doesn't kill to hope higher!!

You can take me out of killies but the breeder in me never quits!! NEVER!!

Late reply from me as usual, but that butterfly barb is simply beautiful. Good luck with these Ronnie. Gee I better pay Ron a visit one of the days. I reckon he wants to the thwap me real good too.
