    Hi guys,
I have recently bought some eggs of this killi and so far have 7 little fry doing nicely.
However I am not able to find much out about this code of this species. Apparently it is a Red/Orange colour but I can find out no more than this. It has been suggested that the code may well be made up, or perhaps something to do with Hjerresen who bred the first orange form in 1953.

    What do you guys reckon?

A late message nonetheless, but better late than never.

    Hello Ed,

Regarding your australe, the code is most probably made up. It clearly has a link to Hjerresen and the fact that he bred the first orange morph of this species from tank-raised specimens in 1953.

In any case, they should be identical to their AUS Orange or Red tank-bred strains. Still, it'll be nice to just keep that code.. for fun.
