Yep this is always coming up on another forum I frequent..

Its a scam more or less. It's a terrestrial moss submerged.

    Hi,
this moss is an "Physcomitrium" species. Definitively not an aquatic moss.... In german it is called "Blasenmützenmoos"

Usually it settles light-rich, basic to weakly sour, nutrient-rich and lime and dry soil. You can find it in garden patches, in greenhouses and flower pots, too.

Most certainly I've run across this one. I recently asked Loh K L on his thoughts on it - and he confirmed what I believed to be the case. This is by no means an aquatic moss, from all the information I've gathered on it.

There was someone over on petfish who had mistakenly bought it - that's how I got caught up in the argument (that, and over a different type of 'moss' ). After hearing, she still put it in the tank; and a result, simply had to take it out when it just started dying.
    Thank you,
    -Peter L.
