I went tracking again few months back and picked up 1 rock which has some common moss attached and patches of green spots on it. After keeping the rock in my 1FT tank for few months, found that the green spot turn out to be Zipper Moss (Fissidens zippelianus). I guess it should be quite common Fissidens in Singapore.

It does not look as green and healthy as those in Bioplast, however they are doing well in my tank

I have pulled out all the attached Moss that has overgrown the Zipper Moss. It does not look like normal Singapore moss but supposed they are the same but growing in different environment and condition.

    Hello, Ben,

It's good to see you around. I'm glad you still going on your nature walks around our island. Are you aware that when grown emersed, the Zipper Moss looks exactly the same as the Fountain Moss (Fissidens fontanus)?
Here's a pic of the Zipper Moss growing emersed in one of my tanks:

By the way, it's been reported in the latest issue (Volume 20-2) of TAG "The Aquatic Gardener" that you, Ben Yau was the person who introduced the Zipper Moss to the hobby. I wonder who did the reporting?

But hey, drop over at my place when you are around the neighbourhood. I have an extra copy of TAG just for you.

Hi KL, if i did not give the moss to you, no one will know the beauty of the moss. Anyway it's my pleasure to be mentioned in TAG and thanks for keepnig a copy for me. I will pick it up from you one of this day since i stay near you.

Ya the emersed zipper Moss do look like fountain Moss. Perhaps one day i should try planting them on ground, they look awesome.
