    has anyone grown this moss ball aka algea ball to those thick and long moss ball lookalike? do u guys turn them once in a while?

    Just curious, but how does "thick and long moss ball lookalike" looks like? I think marimo moss balls are pretty cute... but most people might have problems fitting them into their scape.

    By the way, they do not take well to warm water, the moss ball my girlfriend had in her tank died shortly after her mum gave the moss ball a "shower" in warm water.

    what i mean by thick and long moss was like it will turn thick but not long and skinny..
    in another word.. it means fat and long

    I used to keep this but it starts spreading all over the tank. Getting in between leaves etc like hair algae. I had to bin it recently.

    Yes, they tend to grow better in cold water because Lake Akan is cold!

    i think most plant grow much better in cold water den in warm water

    how cold is cold? my tank is usually around 75 degrees f or 28.3 c and was wondering if that's an optimal temp for marimo balls and my other plants.

    i have those in my low tech 1ft shrimp tank. temp is around 24-25C but no CO2 and the moss ball doesnt seems to be growing, but it isnt dying too
