That's nothing unusual. The Vesicularia's are known to throw out many sporophytes. I don't know what triggers it but I would bet that a sudden drop in temperature is the key that causes many sporophytes to appear.

Before when I had a Christmas Moss wall, I used to see many sporophytes too:



It's a lot harder to see sporophytes with Erect Moss but it has happened in Gan CW's tanks once:
