For no reason, 2 AUS were missing in action in two days. Search around and only found one death on the floor.

Never expect them to jump so high, 5" from water surface.

What I find impressive is how they are able to jump through gaps in teh lid or cover-glass only a few mm wide. Its hard to imagine how the fish could squeeze through it let alone jump.

If you don't want to have more crispy pets, I suggest a better fitting lid and maybe some surface plants.

Chromaphyosemions can jump as high as 7" and they jump because they feel insecure. Koh Heng, I suggest you add more floating plants such as water lettuce, frogbits, etc.

    Thanks for the advise.
Those that jump happened to be under quarantine with air tube pumping air into the tank. Used to have cover it but did not cover for the pass few days.

I believe they manage to jump that high is by borrowing the lavitation force from the air bubble generated by the air hose.

I will get a net to cover the tank to prevent further casualty.

Koh Heng, any tank without much plants and an open surface is an invite to jump. Let me see if how much frogbit I have remaining because the tanks were recently cleared out [undergoing apartment block re-painting]. Meanwhile, a simple cover, even an acrylic sheet, will do some good.
