Hi "customdrumfinishes" and welcome to the forum. Can't help you with the ID but I must say the longish moss looks good (imagine a bunch of it waving in the water flow). Am curious though, about the temperature in that creek. Could you take a reading of that as well as the pH, if possible.

Always interesting to know what conditions make mosses thrive, even though I'm not much of a plant person.

If you noticed, most of us sign off with our names. I'm Ronnie and it'd be nice to know yours.
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,

My guess is it's Fontinalis antipyretica or what is commonly known as Willow Moss. Here are some pictures of this moss. You can make a comparison and see if yours are the same.

i believe its in the fontinalis species but im still not 100% it doesnt look like anything ive ever seen so far so im guessing its some common water moss here in sc.

I always check the ph of waters and it as about 7.8 the temp was 63 degree far. it was a warm day, seems like all the ph around here is between 7.5-8 that ive checked so far

I think it's not Fontinalis antipyretica, but still some specie of Fontinalis genus.
Maybe Fontinalis dalecarlica, where are you from?

It could be it. I'm not sure, but I think so.
btw. I've heard that it will survive only if the water is moving well, unlike Fontinalis antipyretica.
