    BBA infested 70% of my tank...help!

    Hi all,

    i received some advise from fellow hobyist that BBA are actually bacteria and not naturally algae. So he advise me to add antibiotics to solve my problem. Pls advise what antibiotic is he talking about, and where to acquire em. Tks

    BBA = black beard algae <== this one is not bacteria.
    BGA = blue green algae <== this one is the bacteria and has a bad smell. And can be treated by antibiotics.

    So which do you have?

    try to manually remove as much bga as possible.
    keep a regular water change regime.
    try total blackout your tank a few days.

    if these fail then go for antibiotic treatment.
