Put something tat create a solid impact like red plants, or the Estella(spelling?) in the centre and soften it by some green mid lvl plants lor?
Just a suggestion.
Don't bother if its Black cats or White cats, so long as it can catch Rats. Its a Good Cat.

Do more prunning on your glosso...spread the cuttings to fill up the empty areas..will look greener and more natural []

put a red plant anywhere behind . make sure it doesn't blk too much of the riccia's light . the red plant will create a focal point , as most of your plants are the same colour (light green all the way). try getting a few dark plants. and the plant in the picture , i think it only changes colour to red when the temp is cooler ( think its 26C) and the light is strong. anyway nice effort for a 1 ft planted tank.
here fishy fish fishy . here shirmpy shirmpy here is my noobie tank(3wk)
Any suggestion of plant to put in the center??
Preferably something that will not grow too tall
I still prefer yr old scape.. looks much nicer, the driftwood u using making the composition alittle imbalance and rather unnatural on the left, reminds me of the tail of a lying cat[] in such a small tank, your glosso will cover the foregrd in no time.. and I think yr E. tennellus gonna get squash
Simon...don't you think the glosso is climbing upwards instead of sideways? Might have to prune more to induce sideways growth....

Hi simon
Any suggestion to make the cat's tail more natural?
Adding some plants??
you can use some stem plants to blend in the 'tail of the cat'.
some a few stalks of midground plant before and background plant will be alright.
just a suggestion...![]()
there's a hollow triangle at the left of the tank form by the driftwood, you can add some midground plants there....some stalks of border leaves plant, preferably dark color cos your riccia around light green liao....
another suggestion... hehe![]()
add plants to cover the 'cat tail'.. objective is to soften the unnatural look of it
peter, nope... no matter how glosso is planted, as long as it gets the light required.. they will root down and keep low
I think bassically, you should add some plants to fill up the gaps. I myself dun have any suggestions but try looking around. Get one that fits your need and most important fits to your liking.
Ya, try the Eusteralis near centre, side try MM,Rotala Wallichii, Didiplis, MM var, or rotala indica, ur blend of Macrandra with umbrosum in ur last setup is soothing.
If u wanna natural glosso, try grow them few days until u see roots, after on ur lights for 4 hrs only for a day, the glosso will grow upwards abit, trim it off and continue ur normal 10 to 12 hrs lighting, continue until u got a full cover BUT if those really grow upwards without stopping even u on 10 or 12 hrs, that means ur light is not enough u can do it tediously by push it back to the gravel.
Just a suggestion not a comment.[]
