Wow! Very nice!![]()
Maybe it's the cool temperature that helps...![]()
hi guys, 9 months ago, i did a 1.5ft set up for my uncle's warehouse tank..
this was what it is 9 mths ago.. the bog wood sticks were tied with us fissiden. and you look carefully, you can spot a charcoal bamboo tied with subwassertang..
several months had past quickly, i rearranged the bog wood about 4 months ago.. wanting for a us fissiden "lawn" but not on the foreground..
and very soon, another 5 months past.
this was what the tank looked like yesterday.
look at the subwassertang it grown from a 5cmx 3cm piece of small charcoal bamboo to that enormous size.. and that us fissiden behind were acctually those bog wood sticks...
this tank runs on 11watt PL light, very low light on a ~8 gallon tank.. no WC at all for 9 months and i barely see any algae, temp was 20 - 22 C constantly 24/7.
i had redo the tank.. and maybe 9 months later i'll post an update on that tank.![]()
thanks bro, the us fissiden were about 6 - 8 cm long each fronds.. surprisingly, i don't see any browning even though some parts may not recieve any lighting.. whats really shocking is that subwassertang.. even the underside is covered with the FW seaweed i cant find my charcoal now..![]()
Nice fissidens !
Yeah... it seems like US fissiden can be pretty hardy plants that can adapt to low light. I had some tied on a small piece of wood and it was covered most of the time by leaves of a java fern and taiwan moss but it still stayed green and there was noticeable growth.![]()
nice growth on the plants..
but the lushness of the fissiden destroy the look of the branches... which I think the branches looks good.
i've had the same experience with fissiden. they acclimitized to my low light low tech tank and the growth took off. In 2 months, I had 4x the amount I originally tied.
yup, thats why i always loved US fissiden.. beautiful yet very hardy plant. i never had one incident where by us fissiden die on me.. not that im good at it. its simply because they are very easy to grow.
omg magnificant! wish my moss grows like that! nice one!
hi, thanks bro. yours sure can.. just give it time.
really really nice fissiden you have there.. cant wait to get some for my tank. you just motivated me... I have always been to lazy to wait for it to grow until i saw your tank.. NICE.
update! its been 3 months down the road..
i lost the picture which i took 3 months ago.. anyway, everything was bare and ulgy.. nothing much to see at all..
heres the picture i took with my hp.. forgot to bring my digicam. sorry!
did a major trimming.. brought the mini pellia back.. very nicely grown in 22C water!
i might consider another bigger 2ft tank to keep CRS and mainly moss to grow and harvest in the future because that place really a heaven for moss!![]()
Mini pelia is so delicious looking! Well done
Can't wait to see how you are going to utilize them.
