Hi guys, after spending some time in the forum learning from seniors, by my own trial and errors and regretfully high casualty count, I finally felt that I've learnt a bit and finally have the "guts" to go try a setup that I've always wanted from the start. There is so much more for me to learn and hopefully with everyone's guidance this little project will be sucessful. With this I thank everyone and present to you my journal..
2 Seasons

I took a while for me to decide but I finally settled down on 2 x 1fts from Mizuworld.
Loaded up the "gear"
1 x Dazs (60 cm 1 x 36w PL) robot arm light
2 x Dazs-80 whirlpool OHF
2x Gex mini glass thermometer
And thats it for hardware. Going low-tech in an attempt to avoid alage fuss.
*Will work on the wire mess when the weekend comes.

hope you go gentle when putting the water , I don't think you want the white and black gravel to mix
Planted and water has cleared reasonably. Still have much to learn and I'm sure it can be done better and improved but for now please allow me to embarass myself as I present to you the "draft" 1st half of "2 Seasons" ......
.........................................WINTER..............................................
Ok I know having white sand doesn't mean its snow or winter but its about the only idea I can think of
Sigh it got mixed a little but somehow it looks a little more "natural"...... snowing effect??Hehe but then again where got snow inside water one so can't say it natural either.Should've been more careful

Your hardscape is pretty nice... however that fern like plant in the right background seems a little out of place... maybe replace with other kinds of stem plant?
That fern is Borneo Fern.
It's not aquatic.
I feel ya. Back then when I first started, they told me everything was aquatic.
Well I started work on the next half of "2 Seasons"
The hard scape and what it looks like after a feeble attempt at planting. I got some of thoes carbon shrimp bamboo at the back which turn out to be way bigger than what I expected when I ordered online. Was expecting regular bamboo stick size which is easier to scape but I'll let things grow and see how it turns out.

Well added water and this is what it looks like. Waiting for the water to clear.

Made some minor changes to "Winter" and added in my elite oto duo
Which made me realise that white sand's effect, while it looks nice when a tank just got setup, is easily gone once the fish start their "bombing" runs My foreground is littered with oto crap haha. But I'm glad they're happy. Will post a full picture of "2 Seasons" when the water in "Spring" has clear.Mean while my Oto bombers
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
