Aquarium wood

There is a river down the street from my house. There are a few really cool looking pieces of wood there that I would love to add to my tank. I was wondering if anyone knew whether it would be ok to add if I boiled it and if there was anything to look out for if i used this wood.

OH! How I wish I have a river down my street. Right now and for the future I see, its will be a drain.

Anyway, I think boiling is fine. Prolong it to make sure.
