Discovered my pregnant cherries already let go the eggs or rather shrimplets but I can't find any of them in the tank. Usually where will they hide and how soon will they appear in the open ?

haha. in your canister filter maybe. I always have to take out my canister filter to 'harvest' for shrimplets even though i put a sponge filter over my inlet pipe. And the shrimplets survive ok in my canister filter, feeding on all sorts of rubbish and micro foods i guess.

try to find the finest of all sponge that you can find so that it will try to lower the rate of shrimplet being suck into to the filter.. or you can try to place the input high up to also try to lower the rate..

well the shrimplets are REALLY small and they like to play around the sponge because there is microfood there, so its quite likely that they can be sucked up..

Try covering the filter media with lady stokings ..

I did it .. I know the particles will not get into the filter but I guess a tank with just shrimps, this will not be a problem.

For me .. I was lucky. I had shrimplets in the bag that I bought with 5 adult shrimps. I think there were at least 15 or more. Now in the tank I think there is a second batch as there are 2 different sizes. Last count I saw 20+ but many could be hiding. At 2mm and semi transparent, its darn difficult to spot. Soon I'll be wearing glasses if I keep looking for these tiny critters!!!
