Pls pardon the mesh of us fissiden on at the corner, i'm trying to have more plants inside now since this is a newly setup tank, will remove it in a few weeks time.
Pls give me some suggestions on how to improve on this tank because i felt that the tank is quite bare. Since this is a low tech tank, i don't think i can keep hc carpet in my tank.
Thanks

Hi, May i know your objective of this setup is for planted? or for shrimp or for fish?
If possible to provide some of your purpose of this setup so that other can offer their suggestion. What you plan to achieve at the end.
Why i ask if i see that other than the light set, your setup is will be a waste if you keep Anubias and fern.

OK, what the dimension of the tank, it seen to be not a 1FT cube.
Will you get a higher watt light set? 9w will not be easy to keep plant nice. I think they can survive for those hardy one.

Low light = Slow growth...
Maybe you can add some crypts to your tank.
I think the woodscape will look more dramatic if they are pushed slightly off-center to the left. This will allow more open space on the right. Only if it's possible of course.
Do update more often... you still have 4 days to complete your tank in time for this years competition! Hehe.
Ok, For plant choice maybe you can take a look at http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/f...c/plantfinder/.
If you can find Microsorum pteropus "needle leaves" it will be good.
I think scaping wise, jervis and other will be able to help you. Have a wonder scaping journey.

Another thing to take note... your lowest temperature of 18ºC and highest 26ºC is quite a large fluctuation... that's 8ºC in a given day. Do keep that in mind when selecting your livestock... especially when it comes to more sensitive invertebrates such as shrimps.
