HELP: CO2 leaking form solenoid regulator

Any one experience CO2 leaking from the hole on the CO2 solenoid regulator? Refer to the arrow on the photo below. I open the knob thing at the front, inside is something like on the photo 2 and 3.

not really sure how it work but my guess is if the pressure is too large those moving thing (middle thinggy at photo 3) will move and close the valve. The spring probably calibrate to the pressure limit of the regulator.

Any idea how to fix it? Is it due to the o-ring?

I went to NA, unfortubnately uncle Chan isn't there at that time.

I think that is the pressure release. If they pressure gets too high, this is where it trigger a release. A emergency function.

Is there a secondary control valve for you regulator? Can it control to lower the psi / bar or something?

Mine emergency control function is slightly different. There's a copper plate within. There was once when the CO2 refill force in too much, this copper plate is getting too much pressure it can handle and it gets punctured with a hole. Thus gas / presure is released.

Not sure if yours is the same problem like mine.

Sorry dude, I just checked my jbl regulator. Realised your problem is not what I described.

For mine, when I unscrew the knob, the inside is similar to yours. The emergency function (copper plate) should be behind.

wow... you took them apart ? cases like this, i will usually bring to Chan for servicing. By the way, I've been calling NA these couple of days with no answer, so am not sure if they are away on holiday. As for Richard, hes going back to M'sia tomorrow.

well... it was broken last Friday , during this time I turn off the light. I probably start dosing excel today for temporary CO2 replacement.

Went to NA today, uncle Chan fix it for me, he replace the round-round thing. Plants are OK but couple of shrimps interestingly died. The one that still alive trying to reach the surface. O2 level must be very low due to no light. Plant take O2 as well.

does this leaking problem occurs with just a solenoid or can also pose a problem with a manual gauge?

hm... I think leak can occur anywhere along those join. I never have manual before so can't tell but I think it is possible to leak at different location.

In my case it was leaking at the regulator side, before the solenoid portion.

any bro know how much does NA charge for servicing? I suspect my jbj valve leaked but no sure from where, had sealed with silicon and applies tapron tape but tank emptied after weeks.

you can use soap buble and apply it at the regulator join. but make sure that it does not go in into the solenoid otherwise it might cause a mild shock . You can remove the solenoid first before you do that.

when uncle Chan fixed mine, he dunk the whole regulator witht the CO2 tank into the fish tank, without the solenoid of course

thanks bro, i was worried maybe the solenoid valve didn't sit properly cause i once remove it to change to 2 way then change back again, now using taiwan brand no problem at all. did uncle managed to resolve your issue? how much did he charge?

That should not be problem the 2 way spliter is after the solenoid so even if it is not connected properly, it will only leak when the solenoid turn on. In my opinion soap buble test is really important to do everytime change something on the solenoid regulator. give it a try.

The one below, not sure what do you call it, uncle Chan replace the whole assembly. My guess is the O-ring need to change but uncle Chan said no spare part. So he took out from other regulator and fit it into mine. He said it is standard regardless the brand.
