    Hi,
I would like to share with you my current show tank wild guppies, swordtails and dwarf shrimps. Its size is 60cm x 40cm x 40cm (96l) and it's a low light tank with as little equipment as necessary. So it contains no additional CO2 or other fancy stuff.
There is just an external filter (the small Eheim ecco comfort), a heater in the winter months to keep the temperature at 20-21°C and a DIY light with 2x 18W FL tubes (cool white).
Fertilisation is done by adding special clay balls containing fertiliser (from JBL) in the gravel near the larger plants and small amounts of liquid fertiliser (easy-life ProFito) for the smaller plants. The gravel itself consists of coarse granite (0.5-1cm) and contains no fertiliser.

I use only water straight from the tap without any water conditioner. Its parameters are: ~3°kH, ~5°gH, pH7.0. I change about 30-40% every 3 or 4 weeks.

    The plants are:
    Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Mi Oya'
    Cryptocoryne wendtii 'green'
    Cryptocoryne undulata 'broad leaf'
    Cryptocoryne parva
    Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae
    Cryptocoryne pontederifolia
    Cryptocoryne sp. 'legroi'
    Echinodorus tennelus
Echinodorus 'Regine Hildebrandt' (the large one in the center)
    Echinodorus 'Ozelot'
    Heteranthera zosterifolia
    Pogostemon helferi
    Microsorum pteropus
Lomariopsis lineata - fern prothalium (on the drift wood pieces)

The hardscape consists of 3 pieces of mopani wood - one large piece on the left, a flat one on the back and a narrow one on the right separating the cryptos from the sword plant. It took about 2 years to grow the cryptos and sword plants and there was just minor trimming so far. The plants grow slowly as well as the algae. So I clean the front only once every 2months.

That's how the tank looks like:

    best regards
    Robert

nicely done bro, but i feel the background plants are too big for your tank especially the echinodorus spp.

    really like your foreground though!

Love the swordtail fish... a rare sight in planted tanks nowadays

    Hi,
thank you for the comments. The sword plant became just recently that large. It's the maximum size of this variety. Normally it's just 20-25cm high but the new clay balls let it grow quite strongly. I love the warm red colors of it, so it will remain in the tank.

    regards

Nice! Always like tanks fully covered with plants. And using the different color and hardscape to bring out the actual vibrant scape

    Hi,
I got the plants from various farms. The E. 'Regine Hildebrandt' came from the former farm "Zoologica", the red E. tennelus directly from Brazil and the rest from Tropica and Dennerle.
