the last time mine sizzled so much it lifted the whole chunk including its weight!
I can never keep the stuff down, it always floats to the surface and either sucked into the filter or covered in algae at the surface. I tried growing it in my killi tanks as a cover plant, but no luck. It needs a lot of light, and my killi tanks either have too much or too little light. So either too much algae or no growth!
I might try again attaching it to a rock one of these days. It is defiantly an interesting plant despite my difficulties with it.
Funny, I can grow most plants labeled as difficult, but this is one that is supposed to be easy. ?

low tech tank can keep Riccia ?
I tie it to a rock or driftwood.
It is a very fast growing plant if it has the light to do so and there are 2 things that I do to keep it in shape.
1.) Pull the rock out of the water and retie it
2.) Put it back in the water and "trim"/"prune" it to shape
3.) Take put the snippings in a small submersed container meant for breeding fish and let it grow in there
The Riccia is supposedly a floating plant.
It sure keeps finding its way to the surface!![]()
