What species of Geophagus are you considering?
They are definatly available in singapore, i remember LSZ (old member here) used to have at least a pair.

For my proposed L134 setup (yes, soon they will have a space to call their own!), I intend to house 5-6 pieces of earth eaters as companions for the L134... Understand that these guys hail from the same locality (Rio Tapajos?)
Can anyone share information on their experiences with these earth eaters, particularly if they are aggressive and will eat/bother L134 fries/eggs or the proposed cardinals/rummy noses tankmates...
The proposed setup will be a 3ft tank, with the usual branchy driftwood tangle, larger leafed annubias, rocks and slate caves (wedged between rocks to prevent earth eaters from dislodging them...
Oh, and do let me know if these guys are not available in sg, then i may want to consider a trio of heros cichlids...

Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.
I'm interested to know too...i'm possibly setting up a 3ft eartheater tank as wellThinking of alternatives to a discus biotope tank
I used to comm. 8 to 9 pieces of Red Head Tapajos with my L360s (13 pieces of it).
As tank mates, they live in good harmony. Think there should be no issue in keeping them with Hypans given enough hidding space for the plecos.
Only experience I had was the RHT eggs being eaten by the plecos. Never had a chance for my L360 to breed. IMHO, Should the L134 breed; I would not want the EEs to be inside.
