Got 3 tanks, all 15 inches, learning the ropes, hopefully will gain more experience and move to bigger tanks.

I give myself at least half a year to learn.

small tanks are bad ideas for beginners (especially for planted setups, IMO). The water chemistry is not easy to control, temperature goes up easily with all the equipments and newbies tend to overstock the tank. Only advantage is that it is cheaper and can place almost anywhere.

your mix of goldfishes isn't such a good match. Celestial eyes and pearl scale are weak feeders compared to the orandas. Make sure they get their share.

using a 1 ft tank with a hang on filter housing 4 goldfish of this size your tank water will get cloudly very easily, imho, for keeping goldfish is better to get at least a 2 ft tank with an external canister filter, taking into consideration that in a week or 2 they will even grow bigger in size and require more food. my advise on wat you can do now is to limit their food intake, maybe 1 time a day ( goldfish can never be enough for food no matter how you feed them, they eat much and shit much )

instead of returning it back to the stall owner, i suggest you do a posting here and home it to goldfish lover .( unless you can get back some cash$ back from the stall owner , which i understand it quite hard, normally they don't do trade in or return foc live stock) there are many bro here i believe are keen to have it as a new year gift from you.
month ago i do a posting here and all my goldfish was taken away to a new home within an hour.

Aiya, why give yourself 6 months to learn? just relax and enjoy the hobby, no need to put time limit one. What CK Yeo said is right, small tank is a bad idea for beginner, my opinon is to get at least a 3 ft tank, especially for planted and goldfish.

Small tanks are more time consuming than larger tanks! Maybe good for beginners since they will teach you what can go wrong. After a while you will want to get a bigger tank, and then you will see how easy it can be.

Hi cobalt99, yes correct, small tank time consuming......but i learn some thing along the way, so not bad lah. Infact i cannot imagine what will i done wrong with a 2 ft, yes will be going to 2 ft, and maintain 1 tank only, another smaller tank for breeding purposes.
